AGC Chemicals Americas Joins American Architectural Manufacturers Association to Help Set Fenestration Product Standards

EXTON, Pa., April 21, 2016 – AGC Chemicals Americas Inc. announces its corporate membership with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), an organization that has provided performance standards, product certification and educational programs for the fenestration industry since 1936.

As a leading manufacturer of fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) resins used in coatings for fenestration building components, AGC joined the AAMA to help develop product standards and to educate fenestration industry professionals on using FEVE resins in architectural applications.

“Our goal is to be an active participant in the process of AAMA coatings specification administration,” said Robert Parker, technical development chemist at AGC. “We will share with AAMA members our ideas for the improvement of the AAMA specification testing used for coatings applied to substrates used in fenestration products. Our experience in the performance of FEVE-based coatings will help us in this participation.”

Architectural coatings formulated with AGC’s LUMIFLON® FEVE resins are ultra-weatherable, offering outstanding gloss and color retention and protection from UV light, wind, rain and corrosion. LUMIFLON-based coatings ensure a longer life on building exteriors and facades, resulting in less need for repainting and a substantial decrease in lifecycle costs.
