AMOLEA Foam Blowing Agents

AGC’s AMOLEA™ 1224yd is a next-generation, low-GWP replacement for HFC and HCFC urethane foam blowing agents. It has the physical properties and performance attributes of HFC-245fa, but with an Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) of almost zero and a GWP value under 1.

AMOLEA 1224yd is suitable for foam applications requiring superior environmental, flammability, and foam properties. Foam applications include polyurethane, polyisocyanurate and various polymer foams.

  • Little impact on the natural environment.
  • Low-GWP alternative to conventional HFCs and HCFCs (GWP under 1)
  • Zero-ODP
  • Non-flammable (ASTM E681)
  • Has the same thermal stability as HFCs
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Is more stable than other HFOs
  • Good compatibility with most oils, metals, plastics and elastomers
  • SNAP approval pending
  • Low toxicity

  • Urethane foams
  • Polyurethane foam for appliances
  • Polyisocyanurate and other polymer foams
  • Solvent
  • Aerosol solvent/propellant
