Fluon+ Composites

Fluon+ Composites are adhesive fluoropolymers combined/laminated with CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastics) or CFRTP (carbon fiber reinforced thermo plastics). Now the functionality of fluoropolymers can be added to metals, polymers and other materials by creating composites. Applications for these composites include automotive parts and printed circuit boards (PCB) requiring low transmission loss and high heat resistance.

  • Universal fiber-matrix adhesion: AGC’s adhesive fluoropolymers exhibit strong adhesion to metals including copper, titanium, and stainless steels. These can be applied as adhesive layers for bonding or laminating CFRTP with metal base materials
  • Wide temperature range: (-200 ℃up to 260℃) - One of the characteristics of fluoropolymers is mechanical strength retained across a wide range of temperatures.
  • Impact strength improvement: With the outstanding flexibility of fluoropolymers, the impact resistance of materials can be significantly increased. Fluoropolymers can also reduce the occurrence of microcracks.
  • Low water adsorption: By adding fluoropolymers, water absorption properties can be reduced. When mixing fluoropolymers with base polymers, water absorption diminishes based on the amount added.
  • Flame retardancy: The flame retardant properties of fluoropolymers can improve those of CFRP/CFRTP.
  • Combining fluoropolymers with metals: AGC’s adhesive fluoropolymers exhibit strong adhesion to metals, including copper, titanium, and stainless steels. These can be applied as adhesive layers for bonding or laminating CFRTP with metal base materials.
