EXTON, Pa., April 8, 2020 – To help formulators achieve the required SPF in cosmetics and skincare products using less chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients, AGC Chemicals Americas now offers Solesphere™ H-52 and H-53 silica gels. These silica gels have large pores and an increased surface area to effectively scatter light, which means less UV-absorbing chemicals are needed in the formulations.
Formulations made with Solesphere H-52 and H-53 silica gels are also less likely to lose their SPF effectiveness over time because they are less dependent on active ingredients. They enable excellent moisture and oil absorption, heat resistance and smooth application texture.
Solesphere microspherical silica products are safe and effective and do not harm water life. Because they are made with amorphous silica, they are corrosion-free and safe for the environment and human contact.
Both Solesphere™ H-52 and H-53 silica gels are 5 µm particles. Solesphere H-52 has a 10 µm pore diameter and oil absorption level of 300 mL/g, while Solesphere H-53 has an 11 µm pore diameter and an oil absorption level of 400 mL/g.
