New Ion Exchange Membranes Provide High Chemical Resistance for Electrolysis and Electrodialysis Processes

EXTON, Pa., December 21, 2020 – Effective electrolysis and electrodialysis processes require ion exchange membranes that are highly resistant to chemicals. To address this challenge AGC Chemicals Americas offers FORBLUE™ S-Series ion exchange membranes. Because they are made from fluorinated resins, all S-Series wet and dry grades ensure robust chemical resistance and mechanical strength. FORBLUE S-Series membranes provide excellent separation, while providing outstanding current carrying capability.

FORBLUE S-Series grades are cation exchange membranes with a sulfonic acid group. They provide high cation-selective permeability for electrolysis or electrodialysis. They offer ion exchange capacities from 1.0 to 1.25 meq/g. The high ion exchange capacity enables very low resistance with high ion selectivity.

S-Series wet and dry membranes are available in a wide array of thicknesses. If processing requirements demand reinforcement, S-Series membranes are available with special PTFE fabric that has high mechanical strength.

For more details, visit the FORBLUE S-Series information page on AGCCA’s website.
