New Integrated Fine Silica Product Brand RESIFA™ to Expand Eco-friendly Silica Products for Cosmetic, Personal Care, and Pharmaceutical Applications

EXTON, Pa., February 7, 2023—AGC Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of glass, chemicals and high-tech materials, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, AGC Si-Tech Co., Ltd., which manufactures and sells fine silica products, has launched a new integrated brand RESIFA™ for all silica gel offerings. AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. (AGCCA), a global subsidiary of AGC Inc., is AGC Si-Tech’s North American distributor of fine silica products.

Concept of the new brand RESIFA:

REcycle (its circulate nature) + SIlica (with silica) + FAcilitate (contributing to the realization of customers’ dreams)

Silica is attracting attention as a material that contributes to the reduction of environmental risk since it is a material that originally exists in nature and is the most abundant material on Earth.

AGCCA offers an extensive lineup of silica products suitable for various applications including personal care and industrial uses as well as for pharmaceutical production.  SOLESPHERE™ gives a silky, smooth feeling to personal care products, as well as an SPF boost, and can also provide viscosity control and improve mechanical properties when added to 3D printing resins.  SUNSPERA™ is typically used for catalyst supports in the production of polyethylene and polypropylene or in organic synthesis because of the high surface areas and porosity.  M.S.GEL™ perfectly spherical shape enables higher loading capacity with lower column back pressure for chromatography while providing good separation.

Against this backdrop, RESIFA™ will act as the integrated brand to promote the eco-friendliness of these fine silica gels and further the development of this business by uniting the existing sub-brands for use in conjunction with the new RESIFA family name.
