Adhesive Fluoropolymers Improve Performance of Chemical Processing Equipment Components

EXTON, Pa., September 7, 2017 – AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc., will feature functionalized adhesive fluoropolymer resins and compounds at the 2017 Chem Show at booth A-211. When used in chemical processing equipment parts like hoses, tubing, belts, bags and printed circuit boards, these fluorochemicals can provide heat, chemical and permeation resistance, as well as conductivity. In addition, these resins provide excellent adhesion to other materials, including metals.

Also at the show, Michael Scesa, AGC Product and Development Engineer, will give a presentation on “Fluorinated Materials: Smart Chemistry Solutions for the Chemical Processing Industry and Beyond,” on Wednesday, November 1 at 11:15 a.m. in Theater A. The presentation will focus on the unique benefits of fluorine chemistry and the important properties in adds to a wide variety of industrial products.

AGC Chemicals Americas will feature:

  • Fluon® AH-ETFE resins are the solution to many industrial hose and tubing construction challenges. Fluon ETFE AH-600, -700 and -800 resins are ideal for constructions that require unsurpassed conductivity levels, chemical and permeation resistance, and protection against static buildup. When manufactured with these resins, components such as liquid and vapor lines exhibit outstanding performance in any construction.
  • Fluon® ETFE LH-8000 adhesives make it possible to bond dissimilar materials. Multilayer structures can now be produced in a one-step process without using a surface treatment or tie layer. LH-8000 resins are ultra-low melting, and provide chemical resistance, electrical and non-stick properties. These are a cost-effective choice for many applications including chemical bags, hot water hoses, rubber hose mandrels, anti-stick conveyor belts, multilayer monofilament, interlayer insulation film for electronic substrates and tubes that convey harsh materials.
  • Fluon® EA-2000 PFA resins are ideal for coating and protecting printed circuit boards because they provide enhanced electrical characteristics, in addition to heat and chemical resistance. Their built-in adhesive enables one-step processing with other polymers and metals and eliminates the need for surface treatment. Other applications include interposers, steel plate laminates, heat-resistant insulating tape and heat-resistant laminated tubing.

About Chem Show 2017

The Chem Show is where engineers, plant managers and other CPI personnel come together to see the latest equipment and technology, meet product experts and discover new ways to optimize their plant operations. Bringing together more than 5,000 industry professionals and 300 exhibiting companies, the show is the largest North American event exclusively focused on the processing of fluids, powders and gases. Held every odd year since 1915, the Chem Show has a proven track record of helping the CPI meet the ongoing demand for faster, smarter, cleaner, and more efficient processing facilities. The 2017 Chem Show will be held October 31 – November 2 at the Javits Center in New York City. www.chemshow.com
